Includes the original numbered box which is worn with breaks at some of the seams. Number of copies for the United States; an additional copies were printed in England. The endpapers are affected by insect damage. The first and final several pages are lightly foxed, and there is minimal foxing scattered here and there throughout the text.

Contains eight tipped-in color plates, and numerous in-text black-and-white illustrations. The pages to which the color plates are attached have minor staining from the plate adhesive. First edition. Size: Quarto 4to. Signed by Author s. Quarto 26 x 20cm , pp. With eight colour plates and numerous black and white line drawings in-text. Elegantly bound in dark green half morocco with raised bands, gilt titles and tooling to spine, having retained the publisher's original green cloth boards with gilt titles and decoration to upper, top edge gilt.

The original pictorial end papers are also bound in. Internally clean, exterior fine. A beautiful edition of this classic tale, superbly decorated by Rackham. A very handsome copy.
